On any given day you might
• Take ownership of any step in the development process from design, development, refactoring existing code, and through maintenance as required
• Apply analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to think quickly and offer alternatives
• Follow best software development practices, design patterns, peer review, unit testing, and version control
• Mentor team members, and constructively contribute to enhancing the technical knowledge of the development group, as a whole
• Assist with project scoping and estimation by translating business/functional requirements into technical requirements
• Produce timely and accurate documentation and reports of work completed
The ideal person
• Has a successful track record developing applications hosted across multiple AWS regions, and implementation of auto-scaling.
• Is highly skilled on Javascript/JQuery, Backbone.js, AJAX, HTML, and CSS, and WebSockets.
• Is experienced in internationalizing and localizing applications for multi-lingual/global support.
• Has experience writing SQL, optimizing queries and debugging database-related issues.
• Experience with Memcache, Redis, or a related caching system
• Proficiency with ImageMagik and image processing.
• Organized, goal-oriented, motivated self-starter who can work well in a team environment.
